St. Germaine Athletic Association

Mission Statement

The St. Germaine Athletic Association provides an extra-curricular sports program as an extension of the St. Germaine School academic program.  Students who participate in the sports program will be taught the fundamentals of each sport and be given the opportunity to develop strong, healthy and disciplined minds and bodies.  Participants will also develop a sense of good sportsmanship, fair play and team spirit.

It is hoped that the combination of the scholastic and athletic programs will help build self-confidence, character and respect for others, as well as teaching the fundamentals of each sport and providing an enjoyable experience for all student-athletes participating in the program.

The official name of the organization is the St. Germaine Athletic Association.  All parents/guardians of students participating in St. Germaine athletics are members of the St. Germaine Athletic Association.  Members do not have voting rights.  All parents/guardians of participating students will be required to support the organization by supporting and attending fundraisers, and assisting at games hosted by the school.

All members are encouraged to attend the monthly Athletic Association Board Meetings.  The Board shall consist of the Officers, Coordinators and the Principal as Moderator.  All board members, with the exception of the Athletic Director, shall have full voting rights.  The Pastor, Principal and teachers are Ex-Officio Members of the board with voice but no voting powers.

The Officers of the organization shall consist of:

  • President
  • Vice President in charge of Personnel
  • Vice President in charge of Equipment
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

Officers are determined by a majority vote of the Athletic Association Caucus Committee.  Members of this committee include the Pastor, Principal, Board President and one at-large Athletic Association member selected by the Athletic Association Board.

Any Athletic Association Member interested in being an officer shall submit an application to the board at least one week prior to the May meeting.  Applications will be printed in the church bulletin following the April meeting.  Newly elected officers’ terms shall begin on July 1st of the current year.  No more than three board positions shall expire in any one year.  Eligibility for the position of Board President shall be limited to members who have served as a board member or in the role of coordinator for at least one full year prior to the meeting of the caucus committee.
