Family School Association
FSA: What is it?
The Family School Association is a group of parents working together to make each family’s time at St. Germaine memorable.
The group meets monthly to discuss fundraising to support the association, as well as to plan and prepare for special treats for the children and events for the entire family and/or parents only to enjoy. Events have always been successful and enjoyed by all those who attend.
All parents of St. Germaine students are invited and encouraged to attend these meetings…especially new families. When a new family enrolls in St. Germaine, the FSA does its best to get the new families involved.
Officers: Who are they?
The officers are parents of St. Germaine students who volunteer to plan and organize events for the school year. The current officers are:
President............................................................. Peggy Donnelly Vice President................................................. Eileen Krzyzaniak Treasurer........................................................... Shayne Kennedy Secretary................................................................... Sue Sullivan Room-Mom-Coordinator........................................... Laura Koss
Dues: How much does it cost & what does it pay for?
The mandatory dues for the FSA are $10 per school year for each family.
The dues help to fund many of the events planned throughout the year specifically for the children and keeps participation fees for family/parent events down to a lower cost.
Fundraising: Where do the profits go?
The Family School Association donates funds to St. Germaine School each school year to contribute towards the purchasing of school supplies and/or building upgrades and does so through the following fundraisers:
Innisbrook................................................. profits go to the school! Market Day.............................................. profits go to the school! Box Top and Soup Labels......................... profits go to the school!
Volunteers: How can parents help?
The FSA ALWAYS welcomes and encourages parents to volunteer for events! At registration the FSA puts out sign-up sheets for each event planned for that school year and if a parent didn’t sign up at that time, they can always contact the FSA at the e-mail address listed below to see where their help is needed.
Communication: How do parents find out about FSA events?
Below is a list of ways in which each family will learn about and sign up for FSA events:
- FSA Event Calendar
- Room-Mom
- Flyers
- FSA Letters
- FSA Meetings
- Church Bulletin
SCHEDULE OF MEETINGS
The Family School Association meets once a month to discuss planned events sponsored by the FSA; however, it is not just to talk business. The meetings are also for the parents to come and get to know other parents as we are all part of the St. Germaine Community. This is a great way for parents to get involved and be part of their child’s St. Germaine experience. We hope that all choose to join us!
ROOM-MOM PROGRAM:
The Family School Association implemented the Room-Mom Program that is coordinated by Laura Koss. Each room has been assigned a Room-Mom who will notify parents of upcoming FSA events and meetings, as well as to encourage parents to attend.
FLYERS
The Family School Association will distribute flyers as reminders for upcoming meetings and events. The flyers will go home with each family’s oldest/only child.
FSA NEWSLETTERS
The Family School Association will send out newsletters regarding upcoming meetings and events. The newsletter will have information regarding the event, as well as may include forms requesting information and/or payment required for the event. When returning the required form/payment for an event, please send it to school with your child in an envelope labeled Family School Association and the name of the event. The newsletters will go home with each family’s oldest/only child.
ST. GERMAINE PARISH BULLETIN
The Family School Association will submit notices regarding upcoming meetings and events to be placed in the St. Germaine Parish Bulletin.
