Full day kindergarten students are included in this schedule. Half day kindergarten students’ tuition will be $1450.
Book & Materials Fee for the year will be $245.00 per child for Grades K-8. Pre-School 3 and 4 year olds fee is $125 per child.
Technology Fee:
A technology fee of $25 per student will be assessed to provide funding for on-going technology improvements throughout the school.
The lunch fee schedule for 2009-2010 remains unchanged:
- Families with 1 child will pay $40.00
- Families with 2 children will pay $50.00
- Families with 3 or more children will pay $60.00
By way of summary, the tuition increase per student is $100. This represents an increase of $10 per month, or under $1 per day. When we calculate the “cost per hour,” the figure is about $3.66!
Please remember that the School Board developed a definition of a “contributing member” so that we can objectively determine the appropriate category for your family’s tuition. The criteria required that families consistently attend Mass each week; participate in the fund-raising efforts of the school and parish; share their time with the parish by volunteering for activities; and make contributions to the parish offertory collection of at least $200. The accounting period for these contributions is from July 1st to June 30th each year. For families who have not completed these criteria by June 30, 2008 they will be billed using the “non-member” rate for the 2008-2009 school year.
A new Archdiocese of Chicago policy allows families who are active parishioners in parishes without schools to apply to the pastor of the parish they attend to cover the “subsidy” amount. (This subsidy amount is the difference between “contributing member” and “non-member” rates, about $625) A simple application form is available in the school office. It needs to be presented to the pastor of the parish you attend for his approval and signature.
Tuition Assistance: St. Germaine School does offer various programs for tuition assistance for our parents. Programs and requirements do vary, so please contact the school office for additional information.
Extended Day Program Tuition
Only full-time students of St. Germaine School are eligible to participate. Pre-school and half-day kindergarten students are normally not eligible.
The Extended Day Program operates each day Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. For "Half-Day Faculty Meetings" the program operates from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
An annual registration fee of $35.00 per family is assessed at the beginning of the school year. The proceeds from this fee are used to provide "snacks" and other materials used by the students in the program.
Fees for the program are assessed according to the number of children from the family attending:
- $4.00 per hour for one child
- $6.00 per hour for two children
- $7.50 per hour for three of more children
Fees for "partial hours" will be pro-rated to the next quarter hour.
