In December, we asked for your prayers for one of our 1st graders, Danny, who was diagnosed with Leukemia. As par tof his return to school, Lisa Boland, a Child Life Specialist form Advocate Hope Hospital came to Danny's classroom to explain Danny's illness to his classmates. The presentation put ot rest any fears the children might have. Lisa introduced the "There's A Monkey in My Seat" program to St. Germaine School. Whenever Danny is not in school because of treatment or blood work, the Monkey goes where Danny would have for the day. The children take responsibility for th emonkey and report back to Danny on all the things he missed.
